DOMINIONISM the Heresy
Dominionism is not a late doctrine, although it has been altered over the centuries to adapt to contemporary prejudices. It’s earliest record is associated with Catholicism. It was the teaching of the Roman Church, that the “CHURCH” would convert the entire world into a “one world Church/State”, with the Pontiff being the supreme head of the world/Church. It is in Church Dominion that Christ will rule the earth—–not in his bodily form, but in his surrogate—–the Church of Rome. This is the active origin of Dominionism.
During the “Protestant Reformation”, Dominionism evolved into a Protestant Eschatology of course. The Pope became [in their doctrine] Antichrist, persecuting the “true Church” [protestants], the great oppressions against protestants was allegorized into “the GREAT TRIBULATION” and many other adjustments evolved in doctrine to satisfy the gross and well deserved antagonism against the Church of Rome.
Following the great separation between Rome and the protestant Churches, Dominionism developed further. The Pope remained the Antichrist system [in the eyes of reformers], and scriptures regarding the Great Tribulation were allegorized into contemporary circumstantial events. It was the Reformed Church that declared that “one thousand years of Christ’s rule in the earth” was never to be literal, but allegorical as the Catholics had previously taught, the difference being, the notable new adjunct to Christian influence—–now protestant.
Later in time, Dominionism developed into a hybrid mish mash of pre-millennialism, Dominionism, and Pre-tribulationism—–a ridiculous mixture that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. A perfect example would be Pat Robertson’s contention that we are living in the Last Days and the coming of Christ is imminent, but on the other hand, great revival will sweep across the world and earth’s governments will be dominated by Christians. An oxymoron indeed—–or should I just say—-”moron”? Many of today’s evangelicals hold to this insane doctrine. Some of those being—-
These are but a very few of the notable proponents of this heresy. Some proponents [not listed] are great defenders of the Christian faith yet they are blinded by the belief that it is in the power of the Church to transform the world into a righteous global government prior to Christ’s return in gross defiance of the Word of God.
most of the TBN and Word of Faith ministries. The late D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Ministries was a champion Church Apologist, yet his eschatology was that of Dominionism, a serious Church heresy.
Please read these words carefully——-”ONLY THE PHYSICAL RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST WILL BRING RIGHTEOUSNESS INTO THE EARTH”! That event is not imminent, but it will happen soon. Jesus has clearly told us that “all flesh will perish” if he does not return to save the remnant of mankind from all the destructions that are coming on the earth. In fact, the apostle Paul absolutely refutes the notion that the Church will influence government in the earth. Paul tells us that there will be a great APOSTASIA [apostasy] prior to Christ’s return [II Thess. 2]. The Church Universal will become more and more apostate, and MANY false Christ’s ["anointed"] will arise and deceive MANY with amazing works and miracles. In my second home of Uganda, there are Churches with the very name “Miracle Center”—–they are here—-NOW—–coming in Christ’s name— and claiming to be “Christos——anointed”.
John 14:1-3 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
“Yes, it is as you say,” Jesus replied. “But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory..
“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
“Immediately after the distress of those days “`the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn.
Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen
who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in the day of battle. On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.
while we wait for the blessed hope– the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,
They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.
The notion that HUMAN FLESH [the Church] is capable of curing the world’s problems is absurd. We are not called to solve the world’s problems. We are called to be SEPARATE from the world, and to adjoin ourselves to another Kingdom, which is emphatically NOT OF THIS WORLD. All the efforts of the governments of this world, trying desperately to solve the overwhelming distress upon nations, have utterly failed. Why would it be SANE to believe that a greedy, spiritually incestuous, doctrinally detoured, unlearned, lazy and divided Church would be capable of bringing sanity into the whole earth—–and maintaining that sanity for one thousand years? I DON”T THINK SO!
THE MILLENNIAL KINGDOM
9 Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
35:1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.
3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you.
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.
4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.
5 For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.
6 In that day, saith the LORD, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted;
7 And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever.
What a blessed time—-Danny McDowell
